Caden Borcherding is a Tiger
Clemson Baseball has added a big-time name to its future with the commitment of 2027 catcher Caden Borcherding. The 6’1, 180-pound prospect out of Acworth, Georgia, plays his high school ball at Etowah, who won the state championship this past season, and competes on the Team Elite 16U Scout team, one of the top travel programs in the country.
Caden Borcherding recently visited Clemson and wasted no time locking in his commitment to the Tigers. Ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Georgia for the Class of 2027 by Prep Baseball and holding a 9.5 Perfect Game grade, Borcherding is widely regarded as one of the top young catchers in the nation. Known for his strong arm behind the plate and his ability to control the running game, Borcherding also brings plenty of power from the right side of the batter’s box. His size, athleticism, and tools make him a major addition to Clemson’s future.
Head Coach Erik Bakich and his staff continue to prioritize elite talent on the recruiting trail, and Borcherding fits the mold of the tough, athletic players they want repping orange and purple.
