Coach Rittman continues to stock the pitching staff
Clemson softball has added another key piece to its 2026 roster, as USC Upstate right-hander Sierra Maness has committed to the Tigers through the transfer portal. Maness is Clemson’s third portal addition and second pitcher, as the Tigers continue retooling their pitching staff this offseason.
A native of Woodruff, South Carolina, and a graduate of James F. Byrnes High School, Maness brings strong credentials from her time at USC Upstate. She finished the 2025 season with a 21-9 record, 2.23 ERA, and 120 strikeouts across 166 innings, earning First Team All-Big South honors.
Clemson fans may remember Maness from this year’s NCAA Regional, where she threw four innings against the Tigers. Her in-state ties and big-game experience make her a natural fit as Clemson looks to replace key arms lost to graduation.
She joins former Boston College ace Abby Dunning as the second pitching transfer for Clemson this offseason, reinforcing a staff that will have a new look heading into 2026.
