The Start of the 2027 Class for Clemson Softball
September 1st marked the first day college coaches could officially contact Class of 2027 recruits, and Head Coach John Rittman and his staff wasted no time making their presence felt on the recruiting trail. Clemson Softball secured its first two commitments in the class, both highly regarded prospects who add athleticism, versatility, and championship pedigrees to the Tigers’ future roster.
The first pledge came from Natalie Brozaitis, an outfielder/second baseman from Pleasant Grove High School in Elk Grove, California. Playing her travel ball with Lady Magic Munoz, Brozaitis is no stranger to competing at the highest level, having won the 2022 PGF National Championship. Her commitment continues the California-to-Clemson pipeline, a trend that has brought some of the program’s top talent to the south, including greats such as Aby Vieira and Maddie Moore, as well as current Tigers Madi Lardizabal, Sophia Burmeister, and Corri Hicks.
Shortly after, Clemson landed Zariya Mabion, an outfielder from Raymore-Peculiar High School in Peculiar, Missouri. Mabion, who plays travel ball with Top Gun National 16U, is already an All-State performer in Missouri. Her athleticism makes her a strong addition to Clemson’s outfield depth moving forward.
For Coach Rittman, who has built Clemson into a nationally respected program in just a few short years, these commitments reflect the staff’s ability to identify and attract elite talent early in the process from outside of the state of South Carolina. Both Mabion and Brozaitis fit the mold of dynamic, multi-tool players who can help the Tigers stay competitive in the ACC and on the national stage for years to come.
With these two early commitments, Clemson’s 2027 class is off to a fast start and it’s clear that Rittman and his staff plan to keep building on the momentum that has defined the program since its inception.
