Clemson Adds Second Transfer as UAlbany’s Mikaela Mooney Joins Tigers
Clemson Women’s Lacrosse has added its second transfer of the offseason, as sophomore attack Mikaela Mooney has made the move from UAlbany to Clemson. Mooney has been a key playmaker for the Great Danes since the start of her collegiate career, appearing in 37 games over two seasons. She brings with her a strong offensive resume, tallying 49 goals, 101 points, and 52 career assists.
Mooney, a native of Bayport, New York, should make an immediate impact with the Tigers. The attack unit took a hit this offseason with the graduations of Lexi Edmonds, Lindsey Marshall, and Katie Castiello, creating opportunities for new faces like Mikaela Mooney to step in. Clemson is wasting no time in building the 2025-26 roster, quickly establishing itself as a contender in the ACC and on the national stage. The Tigers finished this past season ranked No. 13 in the IWLCA poll, and the addition of Mooney only strengthens their chances of climbing higher.
This marks the second transfer pickup in as many days for Coach Allison Kwolek and Clemson, a clear sign of the program’s commitment to staying competitive and filling key roles as they reload for another strong season.
Welcome to Clemson, Mikaela Mooney!
