“I’ve Liked Clemson My Entire Life”: Max Brown Becomes Tigers’ First 2027 Commit
Max Brown Chooses Clemson
Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers have landed their first verbal commit in the 2027 class: four-star linebacker Max Brown out of Jefferson, Georgia. Brown is the younger brother of current Clemson standout Sammy Brown, and according to Chad Simmons of On3, the decision didn’t take much thought.
“I’ve liked Clemson my entire life,” Max told On3. “What I like most about Clemson are the people who run it. The proximity to home is great too, and the way they help you prepare for life after football was so important. The historic winning stands out as well.”
He added, “With my brother being there, it’s just icing on the cake. Not only am I getting a great education and going to a historically great football school, but I’m getting to do all of that with my brother.”
Swinney and the Tigers remain hot on the recruiting trail, with several key targets in the 2026 class still in play. The early commitments from the 2027 class, like Max Brown, are a strong reminder that Clemson isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. What continues to set the program apart are the reasons recruits consistently point to—culture, people, and a commitment to success both on and off the field.
