Church puts on a show on beam!
Clemson sophomore gymnast Sierra Church continues to make waves in the world of college gymnastics, earning a spot at No. 6 on College Gym News’ list of the “10 Beam Routines to Rewatch This Offseason.” It’s a well-deserved recognition for the Lincolnton, North Carolina, native, whose blend of grace and precision has captivated fans across the Atlantic Coast Conference.
As College Gym News aptly put it, “Clemson’s Church has one of the most graceful beam performances in the ACC. From her elegant posture to her precise execution, every movement in her career-best 9.900 routine radiates poise and control, making it a must-watch this offseason.”
While the article mistakenly cited a 9.900 as her career-best mark, Church actually earned a 9.925 during her freshman campaign — an accomplishment that stands as a testament to her consistency and growth on beam. Her 2025 season-high score of 9.900 came during the annual Pink Meet against NC State on February 14th, a performance that highlighted her signature blend of artistry and technical work on beam.
Church’s journey is even more inspiring considering her walk-on status in her freshman season. Last year, she made history as the first female and first non-football player to earn the prestigious $10,000 scholarship from Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux. The award recognized her “dedication as a walk-on athlete, contributions to the team and her embodiment of perseverance and resilience.”
Looking ahead to her junior season, Sierra Church is poised to be one of the leaders of Clemson’s beam team under new co-head coaches Justin and Elisabeth Crandall-Howell. With her unwavering commitment and captivating performances, Clemson fans can expect even more standout routines from this Clemson Gymnastics star.
As the offseason unfolds, Sierra Church’s beam work will undoubtedly remain a highlight reel worthy of any gymnastics fan’s attention — one filled with grace, resilience, and the promise of even bigger moments to come next season.
