Clemson Gymnastics has secured its first commitment since the hiring of co-head coaches Justin Howell and Elisabeth Crandall-Howell, landing standout gymnast Sydney Snyder. Snyder, who was previously committed to Cal—where the Howells coached for over a decade, announced her decision to flip to Clemson, solidifying a strong bond with the new coaching staff.
National-Caliber Talent from Maryland Joins the Tigers
Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, Snyder trains at First State Gymnastics and brings national-level experience to the Tigers. She has competed at the prestigious Development Program Nationals in 2021, 2024, and 2025, showcasing her consistency and competitive edge on the biggest stage in junior gymnastics.
Impressive Scores Set High Expectations
Snyder holds a career-high all-around score of 38.875, with standout individual event marks of 9.800 on bars, 9.750 on vault, 9.650 on beam, and 9.675 on floor. These scores not only demonstrate her all-around strength but also signal her readiness to make an immediate impact at the collegiate level.
